Full-Time Ward Manager
An exciting opportunity has a risen for a Ward Manager to join my client’s Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities PICU/Acute Service. The hospital is a purpose-built psychiatric intensive care unit. The hospital provides a secure and safe, gender-specific environment for adults who have suffered an acute deterioration or relapse in their mental wellbeing. This exciting and dynamic role will place you at the heart of a clinical team, working closely with patients and other healthcare professionals to deliver the best care and rehabilitation for patients.
They specialise in providing intensive and bespoke, individualised treatment plans working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers and employ staff in a variety of different roles providing ongoing support, comprehensive training, learning and development opportunities.
Ward Manager Key Responsibilities:
- To be highly visible and accessible to patients and their families and staff, ensuring all patients and their families have the opportunity to seek information, help and support, or to communicate problematic or celebratory issues.
- To support their line manager to deliver high quality patient care within the constraints of the financial budget whilst maintaining patient safety at all times.
- To adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24-hour period.
- To provide the daily clinical and managerial nursing leadership for the service and be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are upheld at all times.
